FAQs
What broadleaf weeds will Velocity control?
Velocity has 28 weeds listed on the label and will control or suppress hard to control weeds such as bindweed, capeweed, deadnettle, doublegee (spiny emex), fumitory, Indian hedge mustard, prickly lettuce, shepherd's purse, annual sowthistle (milk thistle), wild radish, wild turnip and wireweed.
Can Velocity be used for broadleaf crops (e.g. canola, chickpea, clover, faba bean, lucerne)?
No. Velocity will harm broadleaf crops and must not be applied to any other crop than stated on the product label.
Which surfactant/wetting agent should I use when applying Velocity?
A recommended crop oil must be used in conjunction with Velocity or Velocity tank mixtures with other products in cereals. The recommended adjuvant for applying Velocity alone is Hasten® (1% v/v), Uptake (0.5 v/v) or Supercharge® (0.75 v/v). The use of non-ionic wetting agents (e.g. BS1000) may result in reduced weed control from Velocity. For more information on other adjuvants, please contact Bayer Crop Science.
At what growth stage of the crop is the use of Velocity recommended?
For optimum results, wheat, barley, triticale and cereal rye should be at a minimum 2 leaf stage (Z12 growth stage) and Velocity should be sprayed 4-6 weeks after sowing onto maximum 4 leaf weeds when cereals have usually 2-5 leaves (Z12-Z21). Do not apply Velocity later than Z30 (late tillering). Please refer to the product label for maximum weed size recommended when using Velocity.
What are the minimum recropping intervals applying to crops following the application of Velocity?
Minimum recropping intervals apply for all crops following Velocity application and depend on the type of crop, the rate of the previous Velocity application, soil pH, and rainfall. For more specific information on the intervals for winter and summer recropping, please refer to the product label. Please note that in cases in which Velocity has been tank mixed with another herbicide, the longer recropping interval of the tank mix product should be observed for the crop in question. For advice on crops not listed, please contact Bayer Crop Science.
