Question Answer
1. What effect does Aviator Xpro have on the retention of green leaves of the crop? Due to the exceptional disease control provided by Aviator Xpro, excellent green leaf retention may be noted after the use of the product. A higher percentage of leaves undamaged by disease results in a prolonged growing period and thus assists the crop to reach its full potential. 2. What is the recommended crop growth stage for applying Aviator Xpro in canola for blackleg management?

The GRDC canola management guide for south-eastern Australia divides canola crop growth stages into six separate phases. Stage 0 [0.0 - 0.8] Germination and emergence, Stage 1 [1.0 - 1.2] Leaf production Stage 2 [2.0 - 2.2] Stem elongation Stage 3 [3.0 - 3.9] Flower bud development Stage 4 [4.1 - 4.9] Flowering Stage 5 [5.1 - 5.9] Pod development

Blackleg: Apply at the 4 to 6 leaf of the crop (Stage 1) of blackleg susceptible varieties (blackleg ratings of MS or lower) or other varieties in situations of high blackleg risk. Will reduce lodging and stem canker from blackleg. A follow up application may be required at green bud of the crop (Stage 3) in high disease risk situations or where an effective blackleg seed treatment has not been used. Increased blackleg risk can be expected in higher rainfall districts (above 500 mm annual rainfall), where crops are grown within 500 m of a previous year’s canola stubble and in later sown crops (May to August). Other factors will also increase the risk of blackleg infection, including the intensity of canola cropping in a district, rainfall before sowing and the frequency of growing the same canola cultivar. 3. Do I need to add a surfactant/wetting agent when applying Aviator Xpro?

Aviator Xpro contains a built in unique and patented surfactant meaning there is no requirement for additional surfactant. However where a tankmix partner is used such as Status® or Select® it is advised that the recommended surfactant for these products should be added.

Leafshield utilises the latest advancements in formulation technology to further optimise the already impressive disease. It has been designed with grower’s flexibility in mind to provide rainfastness within an hour and deliver improved spreading and penetrating properties to ensure greater uptake of active ingredients for better results.

 4. Which herbicides and insecticides can I tank-mix with Aviator Xpro? The compatibility of Aviator Xpro with any other product involves a range of considerations including the choice of adjuvant used, rate of the tank mixing product, multiple mixtures, product manufacturer and more. Generally, Aviator Xpro is physically compatible with a wide range of different products and has also been tested in field trials for any potential crop damage with more than 30 different mixtures (herbicide/insecticide/nutrients). Not being an EC means that it is also compatible with some Nitrogen + sulphur fertilisers that are physically incompatible with SC products like Sumisclex® or Prosaro®. There have been no significant levels of crop damage recorded or loss in foliar disease efficacy.
