FungicidesAdvanced botrytis control. Teldor is the leading fungicide for controlling botrytis (bunch rot) in grapes. Teldor also controls botrytis (grey mould) on strawberries.Teldor has no adverse impacts on fermentation or the taste of wine, and prevents laccase and polysaccharide formation (which can damage flavour). Like most Bayer products for use in horticulture, Teldor is ‘soft’ on beneficial insects (when used as directed) and fits very well into an IPM program. It can be applied at various stages throughout the crop growth cycle.

FAQs
Is Teldor similar to other botryticides used on grapes?
No, Teldor is the only Group 17 (hydroxyanilides) fungicide to be registered in Australia. Group 17 is a unique fungicide group and fenhexamid (the active ingredient of Teldor) was developed by Bayer.
Is Teldor just a surface protectant?
No, approximately 75% of fenhexamid applied moves past the surface, most of this is absorbed into the waxy layer of the cuticle, with the remainder moving through into the plant tissue. This property gives Teldor its long lasting, rain-fast ability. Teldor is best used in a preventative program.
Where does Teldor fit in a botrytis resistance management strategy?
Although botrytis has the ability to become resistant to all chemical groups (if over exposed to any one chemical group), Teldor shows no cross resistance with fungicides from other chemical groups and can therefore be used as part of a botrytis spray program even where resistance to other groups has been identified. How much water should be applied when using Teldor?
For dilute spraying, use enough water to give even and thorough coverage to the point of run-off. Lower water rates may be used with concentrate spraying machinery, however coverage is still critical. Ensure that the amount of Teldor applied to the vines is the same for dilute or concentrate spraying, the equivalent of 100 mL/100 L for dilute spraying. For example, dilute spraying at 1000 L/ha requires 100 mL of Teldor per 100 L but if your chosen spray volume is only 500 L/ha, this requires 200 mL of Teldor per 100 L water.
Can Teldor be applied to grapes after 80% capfall?
Yes, Teldor has a 21 day withholding period in grapes. For export of wine grapes it is important to consult your winery as to their recommended withholding period.
When is the best time to apply Teldor?
Botrytis can infect grapevines at any time during favourable conditions, however an effective preventative program is usually aimed at flowering, pre-bunch closure and pre-harvest, For crop specific information, contact Bayer Crop Science.
