Cost-effective control of
powdery mildew at any stage

Bayfidan brandtag

Bayfidan® 250 EC Fungicide

Bayfidan is a versatile product widely used in both vineyards and vegetable crops. Previously a mainstay of most vineyards' powdery mildew programs, Bayfidan is now mostly used as a cost-effective tactical option with the advantage that it can be used throughout the season (but check the relevant withholding periods or with your winery if you’re using it late). Bayfidan is registered to control powdery mildew in cucurbits as well as tomatoes, peppers (both capsicums and chillies), eggplants and papaws. It also provides systemic control of ring spot on cabbages, cauliflowers, broccoli and brussels sprouts – and even pineapple disease of sugar cane.

FAQs

Question Answer
1. Why can I only use Bayfidan 3 times in a season? The current CropLife fungicide resistance strategy recommends that no more than 3 Group C (DMI) fungicides are to be used in a season on grapevines. By using new chemistry early, the DMI group, including Bayfidan, can be kept for late season outbreaks given their wide export tolerances.  However for export winegrapes confirm WHP with the AWRI dogbook or your winery before applying any fungicides.
2. Will Bayfidan "cure" powdery mildew? Bayfidan works best as a preventative treatment. This means that Bayfidan should be applied on a regular schedule and will protect the plant when infection occurs. A powdery mildew epidemic can be almost impossible to manage once the disease is firmly established.
