Bayer Australia’s Managing Director of the Crop Science division, Warren Inwood, welcomed the end of proceedings.
“Today is another win for farmers and ensures safe-for-use and effective products such as Roundup® continue to be available,” Mr Inwood said.
“These products underpin sustainable farming systems and support farmers in doing what they do best, putting food on the tables of Australians every day.”
The plaintiffs have confirmed that they will not appeal in either proceeding.

Background
- The Fenton class action was stayed pending the outcome of the ruling in July 2024.
- In McNickle, the first Roundup™ final judgment outside of the United States on the question of whether glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup™, causes non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), the Court issued a 322-page ruling finding that the weight of scientific evidence does not support a link between glyphosate and NHL.
- This outcome is consistent with worldwide regulatory and scientific assessments, including from the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA), concluding that glyphosate is not carcinogenic.
- In the United States, the Company has a winning record in the Roundup™ litigation, having achieved favorable outcomes in 15 of the last 22 trials. While we have great sympathy for anyone who suffers a loss or injury, the science proves that Roundup™ is safe to use and not carcinogenic.
